Fat Burner with MCT — $33.90, 90 capsules. This is the most complicated label in our catalogue. Four things before anything else.
1. It contains fish and shellfish
Stated on the approved label: Contains fish and shellfish.
Nothing in the name "Fat Burner with MCT" suggests that. If you have a fish or shellfish allergy, this product is not for you, and that is the end of it. We have flagged the same issue on TurmericX, and it is worth repeating: shellfish turns up in supplements where you would never look for it.
It also contains bovine gelatin, so it is not vegetarian or vegan.
2. A bottle is 22 days, not 30
The serving is four capsules — two before breakfast, two before dinner. 90 capsules ÷ 4 = 22 servings. The label says so plainly.
So the real monthly cost is higher than the shelf price suggests. At $33.90 for 22 days, a 30-day equivalent is about $46. That is worth knowing before you set up a reorder.
3. Two separate sources of iodine, and a thyroid consideration
The formula contains bladderwrack thallus powder (50 mg) and kelp 10:1 extract in the proprietary blend. Both are seaweeds, and seaweeds are concentrated dietary sources of iodine. The label does not state an iodine amount.
We raised the same point on NutraMoss, and it applies more strongly here because there are two seaweed sources:
- If you have a thyroid condition or take thyroid medication, talk to the doctor managing it before taking this.
- If you are already taking a sea moss or kelp product, the iodine adds up and nobody can total it from these labels.
4. Vitamin B6 at 1,471% of the Daily Value
25 mg of B6 per serving. On its own that sits below the established adult upper limit, so this is not an alarm about this product by itself.
It is a reason to count. Sustained very high B6 intake over long periods is associated with nerve problems, and B6 is in a lot of things — GlowWell has 8 mg, VitaWell has some, NutraFuel BCAA has 2.5 mg, hydration powders have more. Stacking four products is how people quietly end up high. Add up your B6 across everything you take.
The ingredients, as printed
Per 4-capsule serving: Vitamin C 60 mg (67% DV) · Vitamin B6 25 mg (1,471%) · Choline 200 mg (37%) · Chromium 200 mcg (571%) · Inositol 500 mg · Garcinia cambogia 50% HCA 200 mg · CLA 100 mg · MCT oil 70 mg · Bladderwrack 50 mg · Gymnema sylvestre 25 mg · L-carnitine 25 mg · Turmeric 95% extract 25 mg · CoQ10 5 mg · GLA 5 mg · Proprietary blend 631 mg.
The proprietary blend contains: spirulina, L-phenylalanine, L-tyrosine, L-methionine, bromelain, psyllium husk, clove bud, allspice, kelp, juniper berry, buchu leaf, uva ursi, cinnamon bark, cranberry and grapefruit.
Fifteen ingredients inside 631 mg, with no individual amounts disclosed. We are not going to estimate them. Note that juniper, buchu and uva ursi are traditional diuretics — if you notice you are urinating more, that is why, and it is water, not fat.
Two ingredients to raise with a doctor
- L-phenylalanine — people with PKU (phenylketonuria) must avoid phenylalanine.
- Gymnema sylvestre and chromium — both are associated with effects on blood sugar. If you take diabetes medication, this needs a conversation before you start.
- Grapefruit extract — grapefruit interacts with a long list of prescription medicines. Worth checking with a pharmacist.
What it does and does not claim
The label supports one thing: supports weight loss when used alongside sensible nutrition and exercise.*
Our own product page says it plainly, and so will we: it does not replace diet and exercise, it does not guarantee weight loss, and no amount or timeline is promised. It does not burn fat on its own, boost metabolism in any measurable promised way, or work without the habits around it. Individual results vary.
If weight management is the goal, the diet and the training are the product. This is an accompaniment to them.
How to take it
Four capsules daily with meals — two with water before breakfast, two with water before dinner, or as your healthcare professional directs. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Consult a physician if pregnant, nursing, under 18, or if you have a medical condition.
