Energy Powder: Six Flavours, One Formula — and the Caffeine Number Is Not on the Label

We sell Energy Powder in six flavours — Fruit Punch, Cotton Candy, Melon Creamsicle, Lychee Splash, Strawberry Shortcake and Yuzu. $34.99 each, 140 g.

They are the same formula. Pick on taste alone — there is no nutritional reason to prefer one over another.

The thing we want to flag first

The caffeine amount is not stated in the product information.

The ingredient list names Natural Caffeine (from Green Tea), but no milligram figure appears. For a caffeinated product, that is the single most important number — and you should have it before you mix a scoop, especially since the directions allow up to five scoops in 24 hours.

We would rather tell you it is missing than let you guess. Check the Supplement Facts panel on the jar itself when it arrives, and if you are sensitive to caffeine, start with one scoop and find out how it sits before going near the maximum.

For comparison, our ShockFuel pre-workout does state its caffeine: 175 mg per scoop. That is how it should be done, and we wrote about it here.

What is in it

Active ingredients: Thiamin (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxal-5-phosphate), Folate (B9), Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin), Pantothenic acid (B5), Calcium (as calcium ascorbate), Magnesium (as magnesium citrate), Sodium (as sodium citrate), Potassium (as potassium citrate), Taurine, Natural Caffeine (from green tea), L-theanine.

Other ingredients: polydextrose, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, sucralose, calcium silicate, fruit and veggie blend (for colour).

It is sugar-free, sweetened with sucralose.

Caffeine plus L-theanine — the one claim here with something behind it

The pairing of caffeine and L-theanine is the most researched thing in this formula. L-theanine is an amino acid found in tea, and the combination is studied in connection with attention, with the idea that theanine takes some of the edge off caffeine.

Our label language is "designed to provide a steady energy boost… say goodbye to jitters."* That is a design intention, not a guarantee. Whether you personally get jitters from caffeine depends on your tolerance, your dose, what else you have had that day and how you slept. No ingredient pairing overrides that.

What else is in there, briefly

Seven B vitamins — involved in normal energy metabolism. Worth knowing: B vitamins do not give you energy in the way caffeine does. If you are also taking a multivitamin or a hydration powder, your B intake is stacking.

Four electrolytes — calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, all as citrates.

Taurine — an amino acid standard in energy drinks.

How to mix it

One scoop with 6–10 oz of water; two scoops with 12–20 oz. Do not exceed five scoops in 24 hours.

That five-scoop ceiling is the warning to respect, and it is hard to judge without the caffeine number — another reason to read the jar.

Once opened, consume within 90 days and keep the lid tight. Sold by weight not volume, so settling is normal.

Who should not use it

The label carries an unusually broad warning: "Not intended for use by persons with a medical condition." Taken at face value that is a wide exclusion, and we are not going to narrow it for you.

  • Anyone pregnant or nursing — caffeine intake matters here, so ask your clinician
  • Anyone taking medication
  • Anyone with a heart condition, high blood pressure or an anxiety disorder — all standard caffeine cautions
  • Anyone sensitive to caffeine, or drinking it late in the day. Caffeine has a long half-life; an afternoon scoop can still be affecting your sleep at midnight.
  • Children

Manufactured in a facility that also produces milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans and sesame.
