WholeEarth: 600 mg of Fruit and Veg Is Not a Serving of Fruit and Veg

WholeEarth — $49.95, 60 capsules, two a day. The most expensive capsule product in our range, so it deserves the most honest article.

The arithmetic, stated plainly

A serving is two capsules containing a 600 mg Fruit & Veggie Blend — ten ingredients in total.

600 mg is 0.6 of a gram. A medium apple is about 180 grams. A carrot is about 60 grams.

Spread across ten ingredients, 600 mg is an average of 60 mg each — and the label does not disclose the individual split, so the real distribution could be far from even.

This cannot replace eating fruit and vegetables, and our own product page says exactly that: it should complement, not replace, a varied whole-food diet. We are repeating it rather than hoping you skip past it, because this is the category where people most often believe a capsule is standing in for food. It is not. You do not get the fibre, the water, the volume, or the bulk of the nutrients.

So what is it actually for?

A small daily top-up of plant-derived compounds, in a format you will actually take. That is a modest, real thing. If your diet is genuinely light on produce, this does not fix that — but it is not nothing either.

What it is not: a greens substitute, a detox, an immune product, or an insurance policy against a poor diet. The label makes no structure/function claim at all, which is unusually restrained, and we are not going to invent one.

It contains gelatin

Other ingredients: gelatin capsule and brown rice flour.

Gelatin is animal-derived, so despite being a fruit-and-vegetable product, WholeEarth is not vegetarian or vegan. That catches people out, and it is worth saying clearly. If you need a plant-capsule product, MoriVive and NutraMoss use vegetable and pullulan capsules.

The ten ingredients

Apple fibre powder · carrot powder · beet root powder · blueberry powder · garlic powder · ginger powder · raspberry powder · red bell pepper powder · strawberry juice powder · tomato extract.

A sensible spread — several colours, a root, a bulb, a spice. Beet root is in here, which is worth noting if you were looking for a beetroot product: we no longer carry a standalone one, and this is where beet appears in the range now.

On cost

$49.95 for 30 servings is about $1.67 a day. We would rather you knew that and decided than found out at the third reorder. For comparison, that is roughly what a couple of pieces of actual fruit cost — and the fruit gives you more.

If budget is the constraint and you want one supplement from this range, VitaWell Complete Multivitamin or SunVita D3 are the ones with measurable nutrient amounts on the panel.

How to take it

Two capsules daily with 6–8 fl oz of water, or as directed by a healthcare professional. 60 capsules is a 30-day supply.

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Consult a physician if pregnant, nursing, under 18, or if you have a medical condition. If you take blood thinners, mention the garlic and ginger — both are commonly flagged in that conversation.

This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. All amounts quoted are taken from the approved NutraWell label.
