What we found on supplement labels, and what we did about it

While writing product pages from live label facts, we found several things a shopper should know before buying. We published each one on the product's own article rather than leaving it out.

What we found

  • Men's Vitality: 50 mg of zinc per serving, above the 40 mg adult daily upper limit, and an oyster extract ingredient. Read the full article before buying, especially if you avoid shellfish or take other zinc-containing products.
  • Ultra Cleanse Smoothie Greens: contains bee pollen, royal jelly and barley malt. See the article.
  • GlowWell Essentials: 5,000 mcg of biotin, plus iron and soy on the label. See the article.
  • Energy Powder: the caffeine amount is not stated on the label. See the article.
  • Oat Milk + Honey soap: named for oat milk, but the label lists goat milk and oatmeal. See the goat milk guide.

Why we publish this

If a label has an allergen, a high dose or a missing number, you should read it before you buy, not after. We would rather tell you than hide it.
